On Sun 31 May, Manchester’s best-loved sporting event is set to return with its biggest and best edition yet, as the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run sees thousands of runners hit the streets for a city-wide celebration of fitness, fundraising and uniquely Mancunian spirit.
While the half marathon has now sold out, entries for the immensely popular 10k are still available, offering athletes of all abilities the perfect opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s most famous running events while raising money on a route through the city centre.

Starting on Portland Street, runners will pass some of Manchester’s most recognisable landmarks, cheered on by incredible local support along the way, before crossing the line in a spectacular grandstand finale on Deansgate.
From the electric start line atmosphere to buoyant on-course music zones and a fun-filled event village that promises an after-party environment, this year’s run showcases Manchester’s unmistakable character with community at its heart. Whether you are taking on your first race, chasing a new personal best or running for a worthy personal cause, the 10k offers an unforgettable race-day experience for everyone.

Last year’s event sold out in advance and demand remains high for 2026, with the 10k now the only way to secure a place on the start line. Runners are encouraged to sign up soon to avoid missing out.
The weekend celebrations begin on Sat 30 May with the return of the AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great Manchester Run at the Etihad Campus. Young runners will once again take centre stage on Super Saturday, enjoying a stadium start and finish in a lively, family-friendly extravaganza.

With fancy dress, high-fives and plenty of local support, Minis aged 3 to 8 will take on a fun 1.5k dash, while Juniors aged 9 to 15 tackle the 2.5k challenge as part of an unmissable event that brings the whole family together and forms a key part of the iconic Great Manchester Run weekend.
