You’ll have seen his handiwork immortalised on posters for local experimental promoters Fat Out till You Pass Out. First they induce a double take which, when the viewer adheres to, causes a blend of curiosity and a level of disturbance. Lewis Mclean subjects his masterpieces to a great level of detail, and is far from the rainbow-splashed clinically jubilant posters you see plastered across the city. Mclean is also head designer and sole artwork creator for boutique cassette label Tombed Visions Record, and will be selling limited-edition custom-made prints at this exhibition launch for just £5 each. Don’t worry about that pint either: The Bay Horse will be serving up complimentary beers while Mclean’s hand-picked leftfield DJs provide a heavy soundtrack for your evening.

Opens Thu 10 Jul, The Bay Horse, 35-37 Thomas Street, M4 1NA, Tel: 0161 661 1041, 5pm-12am, FREE, facebook.com
