Manchester’s acclaimed Japanese restaurant, Shoryu Ramen, celebrates all things ghoulish from Monday 29 October with a new Halloween set menu and 2-4-1 Autumn cocktails. The three course feast is £20 per person and available until Sunday 4 November. Start with Shoryu’s “Ghost” bun, filled with either their melting char siu BBQ pork belly with Japanese-style mayonnaise or a creamy pumpkin croquette – this also featured on the recent Gudetama special menu – click here for more – and we can confirm it’s excellent. The second course is one of two takes on the house ramen; a classic Tonkotsu pork broth with caramelized black garlic or the White Natural veggie edition. Dessert is a Witch’s Hat Ice Cream; green matcha flavour, topped with black cone hat, finished with strawberry blood sauce and edible eye decoration. The ideal accompaniment is one of Shoryu Ramen’s new Autumn cocktails designed to transport Mancunians to Tokyo with one sip. Prices at £10 per drink, our favourites are Tokyo Fall (coffee, rye whiskey, Cointreau, homemade vanilla syrup and orange bitters) and Zen Grapefruit (Japanese gin, pink grapefruit juice and homemade rosemary syrup). Buy two, and the cheapest is free every day between 5 and 8pm.
Halloween Menu is available Mon 29 Oct – Sun 4 Nov, Shoryu Ramen, 1 Piccadilly, Manchester M1 1RG. Tel: 020 3405 7550, www.shoryuramen.com
