Local visual artists Lisa Denyer and Holly Rowan Hesson team up this month for a brief residency at Piccadilly Place. With a shared interest in abstraction and minimalism, both artists use the spontaneous elements of their creative processes as a catalyst for developing work in response to both the site and the collaborative process. The work will be a result of a week working on site at Piccadilly Place before turning the new pieces into a contemporary exhibition. For Holly, this will likely reflect her intuitive camera work, transforming what she sees into transient works of photography, projections and 3D forms, while Lisa’s exploratory use of paint will involve stripping down observations into abstract representations using colour and simple shape. The exhibition previews on the evening of Wednesday 14 August before running every day until Sunday 18 August.
