Literature Live: Stories To Chill For Christmas at The Briton’s Protection

Back in the days before catch up TV, families and friends would gather around the fire and continue the vein of Hallowe’en across the winter months by regaling each other with spooky stories: Christmas was a particularly family-oriented scare-fest for Victorian families, a little terror stricken into hearts to counter the warmth and joy of giving and receiving. This group of Manchester literature lovers, Spoken Weird, keep the tradition alive with their second annual session of ghost story tellings hosted at The Briton’s Protection pub. Come and listen or bring an old favourite story to read or even one of your own creation to share, upstairs at one of Manchester’s most historic drinking establishments.
