When the internationally acclaimed author of Chocolat, bass player and flautist Joanne Harris decided to set some of her latest work to music, live show #Storytime was the result. Accompanied by the Storytime Band – including her husband Kevin on drums, vocals and percussion plus Paul Marshall on keyboards, vocals and guitar and Matt Cundy on bass and effects – Joanne reads some of her stories, which are interwoven with original songs and image projections to create an engaging and quirky performance. Featured are extracts from Joanne’s upcoming illustrated collection of 100 dark, interconnected tales, Honeycomb, published by Gollancz this autumn, plus longer pieces based on her recent novellas A Pocketful of Crows and The Blue Salt Road. Funny, sad, thought-provoking and darkly magical, #Storytime (which premiered in 2016 as part of the Tête-à-Tête Festival) is perfect for fans of folklore, fantasy and fairytale.
