Liverpool Philharmonic Hall opens its doors for a free day of live music this month.

For anyone looking for a whole, cultural day trip, the famous Hope Street music venue opens its doors on Sun 28 Sep for a full day of live performances, featuring everything from world-class orchestral celebrations to grassroots music and homegrown talent.

Making a special guest appearance is Liverpool’s own piano sensation Brad Kella, alongside a surprise performance from a local legend –  to be revealed on the day.

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing three mini-concerts featuring classical favourites and music from the movies. Over in grassroots venue, the Music Room, back-to-back sets will take place from local artists curated by some of Liverpool’s most exciting music organisations.

Vanessa Reed, Chief Executive of Liverpool Philharmonic, said: “I’m so excited for this year’s Open Day. It’s the perfect opportunity for anyone who hasn’t yet been to Liverpool Philharmonic to come and see what we’re all about – free of charge. We want all of our performances – from star soloists to our world class Orchestra – to feel wide open to everyone. The mini-concerts that feature throughout the day give all visitors a chance to experience the full power of a symphony orchestra in a relaxed setting. Smaller gigs which celebrate 10 years of hosting diverse artists and partners in the Music Room – our smaller grassroots venue – includes special guests and intimate gigs with homegrown talent. I look forward to seeing you there!”
