A one-off production of Oscar Wilde’s Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime comes to Chorlton’s very own theatre of arts, The Edge, later this month. The story follows Lord Savile, a man who takes his wedding vows extremely seriously – but just weeks before his wedding he has his fortune told and his destiny cannot simply be ignored. From Hartlepool via Brighton and Grimsby and through to Dublin, the award-winning Rocket Theatre have performed their show 80 times in bizarre locations including private houses, marquees, restaurants, village halls, churches and even a castle. Based at Sale, the company is now bringing this one-off performance to their home town. Featuring multiple stage locations and Wilde’s legendary wit, it is no surprise that this show has thrilled audiences across the country. The Edge Theatre and Arts Centre is known for working with people who generally do not feel comfortable accessing the arts. The Edge also hosts a mammoth range of workshops, classes and projects for all ages. Catch Lord Savile and his valet brought to life in this gripping tale of love, honour, duty, destiny and murder on Friday 20 September only.
