Returning for a second year, Lost & Found Festival takes place at unusual locations in and around the city from Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 September. The three-day event offers the chance to experience something new and surprising around the city, via performances that make the familiar strange. Last year’s festival featured more than a hundred artists and featured a bike-powered cinema at the Bridgewater Hall, spoken word performances on Metrolink trams and a dance collective performing in Piccadilly Gardens fountain. This year, expect a huge variety of pop-up events including a temporary garden enclosure inside The Lowry Mall (Wed 26 – Fri 28, FREE) and a large-scale game of truth-or-dare along Oxford Road (Thu 27, 10am – 4pm, FREE). You can also expect to encounter British wildlife as you’ve never seen it before, with a performance by a trio of peculiar looking animals in human clothing dotted around the city (various times and venues – click here). Lost & Found is organised by Contact theatre. You can keep track of all the action by following @lostfoundfest, and get involved by including #lostfoundfest in your tweets.

Wed 26 – Fri 28 Sep, Contact, Oxford Road and city-wide, various times, contactmcr.com
