Tapeo & Wine have teamed up with Mahou to bring a summer of Madrid to Manchester. Every Tuesday for the next five weeks will see a different aspect of Madrileño culture explored whilst enjoying an absolutely gratis Mahou lager. This Tuesday (25 June) sees the Sundown Series kick off with ‘Five Star Madrid’, a talk on the top five places to visit in the city, followed by tips on how to capture the best snaps from there, or indeed anywhere. As one of the most picturesque European cities, it’s not hard to get photos that look okay, but if you want your Instagram snaps to really go the distance, this masterclass will get you there. A Mahou Maestro will use their insider knowledge of the Spanish capital to lead guests on a journey through the city before a photography expert gives you the knowhow to get the perfect snapshot of the urban sunsets and bustling life.
If paella and patatas bravas is more to your taste, the following week (2 July) sees the collaboration bring you an insight into Madrid tapas culture with a ‘Fusion Tapas’ masterclass on how to make your very own taste of Madrid in Manchester. As one of the most well regarded tapas restaurants in the city, it’s an apt place for this talk guided by tapas expert Elia Muñoz Carulla.
During every event, masterclass students can pour themselves a complimentary pint of Mahou from the ornate beer font stocked with the Spanish lager.
Each night sees two sessions for the masterclass, lasting just under an hour each, starting at 6pm and 7pm. The events are covered by the folks at Mahou but to ensure your space send an email to elena@tapeoandwine.com. If you’re after even more Madrid culture this Summer, future masterclass talks include Acoustic Sounds of Madrid (9th July), Madrid DJ Soundscape (16th July), and Madrid Street Art (23rd July).
