Spinningfields Makers Markets returns this weekend, with creative and foodie stalls hosted over two days in the heart of city centre. Popping up in time for the Great Manchester Run, the hive of stalls situated on The Avenue and Spinningfields Square, comprises award-winning local producers of arts and crafts, beauty products, food and drink and much more. Food on offer includes Cumbrian Pies black pudding slices, hommity pies from All About Pies, while those with a sweet tooth will love Lola’s Bakehouse’s legendary creme egg rocky road and the award-winning selection from Manchester only bean to bar chocolate producer, Dormouse Chocolates. Pick up a falafel wrap from Comptoir Libanis as you browse the stalls, or tuck into one of Hot Steppa’s glazed chicken buns. Something to drink? Sup on Ollie’s Orchard English cider and apple juice, watermelon coolers, smoothies from Naturally or a glass of bubbly from Fizz Guru. Treat yourself to one of Signature Soap’s goat milk bars, illuminations by Berisha Candles or Maison Meunier’s famous rose petal and coffee body scrubs, or pick up something for the home. We like the look of Bonkers Clutterbucks handmade hot air balloons, driftwood beach huts from Indriftic and Ben Sedman impressive local photographs. Vintage fans are in for something special too. The Finders Keepers area which includes furniture, up-cycled robots from Gizmobots, woollen blankets by Lucy Lockets Pockets and clothes from Ain’t It Quaint. The weekend is rounded off with sonic entertainment from DJ Pasta Paul on Saturday and acoustic vocals from Chris Tavener on Sunday.
