Have you ever wondered what Art History would look like if the male was the muse? In an upcoming exhibition at Goodstock, on Oxford Road, this theme is explored in an amalgamation of graphic design, illustration, written material and video/audio. The theme of the male muse is put out there as a perspective to play around with, to contemplate and to question. Manchester based curators Emily Briselden-Waters and Rachel Dargavel-Leafe say “MAN exhibition is not set out to discriminate – nor is it a showcase to celebrate. It is a comment on society as a whole.” Featuring a group of Manchester based artists and designers, this exhibition will take charge of the space for a night, presenting work that perplexes the historical status quo of gender in art.
