Manchester Airport has unveiled plans for a new private terminal, a concept which includes a culinary collaboration with award-winning chef, Adam Reid.

‘aether’ aims to add an element of luxury to the airport journey by offering an elevated product ‘usually reserved for first and business-class passengers to all travellers as a purchasable extra.’

The terminal is said to be positioned in a contemporary, self-contained, private space, completely away from the main airport terminal, boasting panoramic runway views and a specially curated menu.

Along with the new area, a partnership with BMW will see the iconic car manufacturer provide a chauffeur-driven service across the airfield straight to the plane.

Also part of the plans, aether will launch in collaboration with acclaimed chef Adam Reid. The Manchester-born chef will create ‘an elevated dining experience, with a crafted menu designed to leave guests feeling refreshed and ready for their onward journey.’

aether will offer reservations seven days a week with a limited number of spaces each day. Entry starts from £90 per person and as part of a tiered offering, there are two packages to choose from.

‘Express’ is available to those with just cabin bags, and provides access to go straight through the Private Terminal, while ‘Inclusive’ is designed for those with either cabin or checked bags and can be used on either departure or arrival. Guests can also bring along non-travelling guests, subject to availability and at an additional cost.

Reservations will open on Thu 6 Jun for passengers to use the private terminal from Mon 4 Nov. Guests who are interested can already join the waitlist here.
