On Fri 21 Mar, Manchester Camerata brings thrilling new dimensions to the majestic works of Dvořák, Kodály and Bartok with Music Director Gábor Takács-Nagy, Principal Cellist Hannah Roberts and students from the RNCM.
Taking over the RNCM Concert Hall for one night only, the Camerata delivers a spellbinding interpretation of Dvořák’s gently sorrowful yet dazzlingly lyrical Cello Concerto, written in 1894 during his final academic year in the US. Known around the world as one of the greatest cello arrangements of all time, the piece is celebrated as one of Dvořák’s most intimate, reflective works, marked by profound emotional release and uninhibited personal expression.
Audiences will also have the chance to hear Kodály’s Dances of Galanta and Bartok’s Hungarian Sketches, a sparkling pair of complimentary masterworks which showcase the composers’ shared interest in the authentic folk traditions of their homeland.
Book tickets below for an unmissable night of infectious energy and flawless orchestral harmony.
Fri 21 Mar, 7.30pm, RNCM, 124 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9RD, £20 (Students £5, Under-30s £9)
