Thu 5 Nov – DJ Spinn @ Soup Kitchen
After a sell-out Halloween affair, P13 return to the more familiar surroundings of Soup and they bring a legend all the way from Chicago in the shape of DJ Spinn. Co-founder of the hugely influential juke/footwork label Teklife, Spinn has embraced the UK’s enthusiasm for the sound with releases on Kode9’s Hyperdub label. Support comes from P13’s Acre and DJ Croww (more on him later) – tickets are on their final run though, so act quick if you want to reach!

Fri 6 Nov – Bok Bok & Roska @ Hidden
As Hidden’s reputation grows, they’re able to branch out into a slightly less mainstream house and techno area and the booking of both Bok Bok and Roska is a statement of intent for Manchester’s best new venue. The Night Slugs bossman has been considered one of the best DJs in the country for years now, and Roska is one of the few remaining leaders of the UK Funky scene – although his sound has developed into a lot more than that now. Hercules and Love Affair vocalist Kim Ann Foxman also features on the bill – there’s plenty of bang for your buck here.

Sat 7 Nov – High Bank @ Soup Kitchen
Back to Soup for the mighty High Bank – run by two of the city’s most exciting entities: DJ Croww and Samename. November’s event marks the release of Florentino’s Tu y Yo EP on our very own Swing Ting label – Florentino and the boys will be joined by the mighty Big War. Expect plenty of rap, jersey and reggaeton – all that good club stuff. I can’t recommend this one enough – it’s cheap too!
