Suspiciously Cheap Comedy | Mon 13 Mar | New Adelphi Building | 7pm | £5
Bringing their much loved London show to their hometown (and alma mater) of Salford University, Gein’s Family Giftshop host a night of ludicrously talented comedians for the ludicrously low price of a fiver. Having met at Salford earlier this century they are heading back with a host of famous graduates including Edinburgh comedy award winning character act Adam Riches, the globe trotting Luisa Omielan and downbeat observationalist Alun Cochrane. Hosted by Kiri Pritchard-McLean and also featuring Gein’s sketch pals Goose this is a steal of a night and what to be attended by all Manchester comedy fans.

The Delightful Sausage | Wed 15 Mar | Gullivers | 8pm | £4
Chris Cantrill and Amy Gledhill’s mad cap variety show continues its run in new home Gullivers this month welcoming decrepit 70s Children’s TV producer Peter Fleming who harks back to a simpler time for television for tots with sexism rife and no idea is considered too bad for TV. Also available on this merry go round of mirth are Jayne Edwards, Daniel Nichols and the sausage’s ‘comedian in residence’ Barnaby J Thompson who will be releasing another strange, hilarious and no doubt macabre character from his brilliant brain. Another small price to pay for top-notch comedy.

Richard Herring | Sun 19 Mar | The Lowry | 8pm | £18.50
It’s not often a comedian gets the chance to release a best of, but with 12 Edinburgh shows under his belt on topics ranging from Hitler’s moustache to the deconstruction of the genealogy of Christ Richard Herring certainly has a vast and eclectic back catalogue to be leafing through. Faux modestly entitled ‘The Best’ Herring is hoping to create a great introduction to new fans and a trip to down memory lane for those that might have seen some of his old shows.
