Jamali Maddix | The Pub/Zoo | Tue 25 Apr | 7.30pm | £5/3
Maddix’s essential comic voice has always circled the absurdity of racism, and with his recent stint as a television host for Vice’s ‘Hate They Neighbour’ he has been able to study the ludicrous nature of racists in their natural habitats around the world. This has served to strengthen his style and his confidence as a performer. Maddix played two sold out shows in one night recently in Manchester so make sure you get down to XS for a fiver whilst you can.

Alex Boardman and Barry Dodds | Klondyke Club | Thu 27 Apr | 8pm | £6
Katie Mulgrew’s Levenshulme comedy club continues its hot streak with a double headline showcase featuring two of the North’s best comedians in Alex Boardman and Barry Dodds. Possibly better known as one half of the weekly paranormal podcast ‘The Parapod’ with Ray Peacock, Dodds has marked himself as a whimsical storyteller whereas Boardman is also drawing attention for his podcast that accompanies the monthly fresh talent night ‘New Comedians’ he runs at The Comedy Store. Two acts at the top of their game for a stupidly low price in a lovely venue for comedy.

Tony Jameson | The Bowling Green | Fri 28 Apr | 8pm | £7/9
Ever since his claim that ‘Football Manager Ruined My Life’ in his show back in 2014 North Easterner Tony Jameson has done pretty well for himself. He has toured the show extensively, including residencies at Leicester Square Theatre and the Museum of Comedy and recently made his debut recording of the show available to stream online now. Working on a new show that will no doubt continue his mining of the meaningful in the mundane he comes to Chorlton’s The Bowling Green to headline a top bill for a great price.
