Sidekick | Mon 28 Sep | Via | 7.30pm | £2
Another top line up from Kate McCabe’s Sidekick Comedy to go along with the amazing nerdy prize giveaways the American comic is so proud of. Las month was a Jacob from Twilight action figure so cross your fingers for an Edward this time round. Prizes aside, comedy comes from wunderkind Steve Bugeja, the irresistible and infectious stylings of Andy Watson with support from newcomers Deborah Taylor and Tom Lawrinson.

Despite changing venue a number of times Manchester’s favourite comedy club XS Malarkey has managed to make it to 18 years of low cost high quality comedy. To celebrate this milestone they have three secret headliners to announce soon and with their past history of booking some of the most exciting talent both new and old it should be a belting show. Joe Lycett (pictured) | Sat 3 Oct | Gorilla | 7pm | £12/10
If you’re a massive Lycett fan (a Lycette if you will) then you might have already caught the polite Birmingham troublemaker in his three night stint at The Lowry late last week and early this, but then if you truly class yourself as a Lycette then you’ll be eager to see this next big thing again. Being a Group Therapy show the rest of the lineup is also a stellar collection of comedy talent with Phil Wang fresh from an Edinburgh nom with his sketch group Daphne and Sarah Franken who also had a successful Fringe courting rave reviews for her show ‘Who Keeps Making These People?’ All tied together by Danny McLoughlin it’s a real feast for the funny bone.

Chris Coltrane and Tiernan Douieb | Sat 3 Oct | The Dancehouse | 8pm | £8/5
The Dancehouse has stepped up it’s comedy quota and here has a double bill of satirical stand up shows from this year’s Fringe. Tiernan Douieb’s ‘The World is Full of Idiots, Let’s Live in Space’ is both a visceral attack of the current political climate and a beautifully worded ode to space travel and exploration. Twitter superstar Chris Coltrane releases himself from the shackles of 149 characters to build his ‘Left-Wing Propaganda Machine’. With praise from the likes of Mark Thomas for his political firebrandery Coltrane is seen as the future of British satirical stand up.
