Simon Munnery | Mon 10 Apr | The Spread Eagle | 7.30pm | £5
Tony Basnett and his Trapdoor comedy nights continue to pair some of the finest acts with the most perfect places. Tonight they welcome the complex mind of Simon Munnery to their newest night at The Spread Eagle in Chorlton for a night of Monday night mirth. Make the four day week seem even shorter with some delightfully surreal stand up from a master of the art ably flanked by the musical comedy of Jollyboat and Basnett’s gentle ribbing as MC.

John Hastings | Wed 12 Apr | Sandbar | 8pm | FREE
John Hastings was already making a name for himself as one of the smart new breed of Canadian comedians making the UK stand up scene their own before he came across a gentleman in the crowd of one of his gigs by the name of Dennis Rodman. The video of their epic interaction has since gone viral (check it out below) and any washed up sports stars or good friends of Korean dictators had better beware his rapier wit. Performing for free at Red Redmond’s Dead Cat night here, it is worth checking him out on the cheap whilst you still have the chance. You never know when Kim Jong Un might show up to avenge his buddy.

Fin Taylor | Thu 13 Apr | Tiger Lounge | 7.30pm | £5
Wunderkind Fin Taylor’s comedy chops have never been in doubt, his quick wit, intelligence and anecdotal wonder is as good as anyone on the comedy scene and he only needed to find the perfect subject to aim his brain at. It seems he has found his target in the ‘ickiest thing there is’ for his new show about being white and the idea of white privilege. Gaining rave reviews for the show ‘Whitey McWhiteface’ at last year’s Edinburgh Festival he presents it here in the intimate surrounds of Tiger Lounge and you’d be a fool to miss out.
