Since the temporary closure of the Manchester Craft and Design Centre, the creatives based there have been forced to improvise. Many have turned their homes into impromptu workshops so they can continue to design and make their goods. Meanwhile, the Centre’s management has offered rent relief and business support, to see their tenants through these difficult times. They have also launched a new pop-up website to help the public browse the makers’ product lines and buy over the net. The site, below, has links to the online profiles of 25 makers, so you can shop via their websites, Instagram, or Facebook pages. There’s a wide range of handmade jewellery, ceramics, glassware, paintings and more on offer. So, you’re bound to find something for yourself or a loved one you haven’t seen in a while. There’s also a page where you can give a donation, to further support these small businesses.
