Much-loved Curry Mile veteran Mughli has announced it will open its first city centre location later this year.
After more than three decades in business, the authentic family-run Punjabi and grill specialists will arrive in town by way of the brand-new House of Social food hall, which comes to First Street this summer.
Mughli’s House of Social menu takes inspiration from its original Indian soul food menu at their flagship restaurant on Wilmslow Road, with tried and tested favourites, as well as crowd pleasers from their various pop ups and collaborations over the years.
Shaz Arshad, one of the brothers leading the Manchester-based group, which also includes Evelyn’s and Gooey, said of the new venture: “We’ve always had a lot of love from Manchester city centre throughout the years, and it’s great to be able to bring it home to House of Social. We’ve looked at a lot of sites and spots; this has been on the cards for a long time and finally we’ve found somewhere which we feel matches our aspirations”.
Mughli is the first operator to be announced for House of Social. Spread over 12,000 sq ft, the upcoming venue will boast five independent kitchens in total. A diverse lineup of further kitchens will be announced in the upcoming months. Jake Atkinson, former operations manager of Mackie Mayor, The Picturedrome and Altrincham Market is headling up the project.
