It’s been a tough year for Manchester but one that it has come through with a strength hitherto unseen, so it’s worth celebrating the city and its people this Sunday at the Manchester Day parade and party. The theme this year is ‘The Word on the Street’ and promises to be bigger and even better than before. As usual, the parade kicks off on Liverpool Road at 1pm before heading to Deansgate, Peter Street and Albert Square, finishing up in Exchange Square at around 2.30pm. As an added bonus Manchester Food and Drink Festival will be making an early appearance around the city,  with a mouthwatering selection of street food traders including Korean fried chicken from Wok’s Cluckin‘, NY bagels from Eat New York and BBC’s Million Pound Menu contestant, Wholesome Junkies. Come for the pageantry, stay for the food.
