Manchester food and drink news includes the opening of Cafe Beermoth in Spring Gardens (see more here), a new members club, Amira Prive, under the Lowry Hotel, and Friday Food Fight’s plans for NYE 2015 at the Great Northern Warehouse

Amira Prive – new members club under the Lowry Hotel
New private members bar and cocktail lounge Amira Prive is to open underneath the Lowry Hotel. The swanky members only bar, which will occupy the basement space, but will not be affiliated with the five-star hotel is all set to preview this coming weekend, but steady on guys, it’s by strict invitation only. Part owned by former Dragons’ Den star Piers Linney – former law student at the University of Manchester – will cost between £500 and £1,000 a month for membership and promises to combine ‘Dubai glamour’ and ‘London style’ so better get saving those pennies.

Friday Food Fight NYE at Great Northern Warehouse
Still haven’t made plans for New Year’s Eve – don’t panic. Why not ring in 2016 at the last ever Friday Food Fight? The event, organised by B.Eat Street, is returning for one last party at the Great Northern Warehouse before moving to a new permanent home early next year. There will be plenty of beats and food-wise you’ll be spoiled for choice as Fabulous Burger Boys, Holy Crab, Manchester’s Dim Sum Su, Indonesian specialist Bali Beach Hut, and Belgian pancake and waffle house Poffertjes King will all be peddling their delicious wares whilst Bart’s Tiki Cart and prosecco bar Fistful Of Fizz will keep the booze flowing into the small hours. Tickets are selling out fast and this promises to be a fitting send-off.
