In the former Reform Club and later Room restaurant comes a new venture from the Living Venture’s group called Grand Pacific. A sister to the existing Grand Pacific in Spinningfields expect more of their trademark south eastern Asian and British food and cocktails.

Irish whiskey tasting at Font
The Font’s Chorlton branch is kicking off the year’s proceedings early this year, hosting an evening of Irish whiskey tasting. In honour of St. Patrick’s Day, whiskey experts will be on hand to dish out four samples and some accompanying knowledge. Slainte.

Irish food on St. Patrick’s Day at Didsbury’s Rustik
Didsbury bar Rustik will be celebrating on Friday by offering up full Irish breakfasts, and bubble + squeak benedict with smoked bacon. Plus, Granny Tessie’s Irish stew with colcannon dumplings and homemade soda bread will be served until late. There are drinks deals on cocktails, whiskey and baby Guinness, and there will be live Irish music from 6pm.

Leading performance group Quarantine are offering customers a free lunch in exchange for a 30 minute chat. Held in the Northern Quarter’s Kabana, they buy you a curry in exchange for you taking part a conversation – and there’s even a conversation menu to choose from. Book now: Beer and cheese pairing at Beermoth’s original off licence (pictured)
Only a select gathering have turned right and gone down the staircase to the Beermoth cellar bar – you have the chance to join them for a beer and cheese tasting evening next week. Based at the original Tib Street bottle shop, cheesemonger Harvey & Brockless will be on hand to describe the cheese selection, while the resident beer aficionados at Beermoth will talk you through the beer matches. They promise quadrupels, lambics, barrel-aged stouts and a couple that have been patiently aging for some time, accompanied by earthy, aromatic and tangy cheese from the independent merchant.
