Anniversary feast at Hawksmoor
We’re kind of still in the honeymoon period with the Manchester branch, but Hawksmoor is celebrating its 10th anniversary and are celebrating in style. As part of Manchester Food and Drink Festival, it is serving its Classics Menu, designed to tell the story of the restaurant. Expect shortrib nuggets with kimchi ketchup, scallops with white port and garlic, pork belly ribs (pictured), fillet or ribeye steak with sides and sauces, sticky toffee pudding and salted caramels afterwards. Before rolling home, full and happy, presumably. The ticket includes these six courses along with cocktails, wine, whiskey and anecdotes, as well as a goody bag to take away with the restaurant cook book. Check out our review.
Thu 6 Oct, Hawksmoor, 184 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3WB, Tel: 0161 836 6980, £65, www.eventbrite.com

All lovingly cooked by a Levy Market regular stall holder, no less.

In short: The Liquor Store is the latest bar to join HOME and the gang down at First Street, and is opening this weekend. The theme is a vintage LA liquor store. Pop in and sample the extensive cocktail list, which has been a huge success in the other flagship branch of the bar.
