Not so Idle Hands: the coffee shop moves to Northern Quarter (pic)
Dashing-for-a-train coffee favourites Idle Hands is moving inland. To a bigger, better, bolder home, as they’re relocating to the former Gina Bacconi shop, next to Allotment Bar. They fast grew a solid reputation for purveyors of great coffee and stonking breakfasts – Twitter confirms that will continue, along with intriguing references to experimenting with new menu ranges.
Idle Hands, opening date TBC, 32-34 Dale Street, Manchester, M1 1FY, www.idlehandscoffee.com
Totally Wild UK: One day foraging, brewing and tasting event at the Parlour
Run in collaboration with Totally Wild UK, Chorlton’s The Parlour is hosting a full day of brewing, foraging and tasting. Beginning with samples of a couple of selected wines, the group will then be guided to a local site by foraging experts, Totally Wild. After collecting wild plants and flavourings, these will be added to an initial wine and beer brewing batch back at The Parlour. From this, each person will be able to take home five litres of wine to ferment and brew. Get your airing cupboards cleared out in preparation, the washing can dry elsewhere. There will be 25 wines, beers and cocktails to taste on the day over a leisurely afternoon – plus your own brew to take away.
Sat 30 Apr, The Parlour, 60 Beech Road, Chorlton, M21 9EG. noon-6pm, £50, www.eventbrite.co.uk
