This weekend: GRUB Food Fair at Mayfield Depot
Good things come to those who wait and after a short delay, this weekend sees the official launch of GRUB’s new twice weekly food fair at Mayfield. The bar unites breweries from Manchester and across the North including Runaway, Blackjack, Marble, Cloudwater, Track, SQUAWK, Hawkshead, Magic Roc, Buxton, Torrside, Legitimate Industries, Ilkley, Beatnikz Republic, Northern Monk, North and many more. And that’s just the bar. Friday’s food line-up includes What’s Your Beef’s burgers, mezze from The Otto-Men, bao from Wallace and Sons, Polish goodies from Smak, Mac Daddies mac and cheese and dessert from The Manchester Doughnut Company. On Saturday, Street Souvlaki and Oh My Glaze replace Smak and What’s Your Beef. Opening up this unique Manchester venue is going to be a fantastic feat, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk away from Piccadilly Station. The bar takes cards but bring cash for the food stalls. DJs will provide the soundtrack all day – head down to welcome the new institution to the city. Day trip: Littleborough Food and Drink Festival 2017
The festival returns for the third year in the nearby town of Littleborough, which is a 26 minute train journey away. With a food trail to walk around tasting the products from various local food and drink producers, there will also be demos, food stalls, live music and entertainment. On the tram network out of Manchester, Altrincham is an established food and drink haven. Love bikes and booze? North West Velo Fest hosts a bike party starting at Central Library 
Run by North West Velo Fest, there will be an evening of bike fun, music, beer and cider. Local Moss Cider Project will be bringing their cargo bike bar to keep you hydrated alongside the kegs of ale. A feeder ride to the secret location will begin outside Manchester Central Library – cryptically, details on this will be released in the Facebook group on the day.
