Runaway for Supper: new monthly supper clubs at Runaway with GRUB
The Runaway Brewery and foodie mavericks GRUB are collaborating to bring a new monthly pop-up dining room to the city, called Runaway for Supper. Each edition will see a different food trader bringing a specially created four-course menu to proceedings, serving it at Runaway’s new tap room which looks out over the brewery floor in full flow. Each course will be paired with one of the brewery’s signature beers, and the bar will be open an hour ahead of service to get started. First up in the series, is Wholesome Junkies. Their menu begins with an Autumnal crostini with homemade ricotta, roasted butternut squash, caramelised onions and sage; followed by salt and pepper Portobello mushrooms with spring onions, sriracha mayo and ponzu dipping sauce. The main is a spiced pumpkin curry with tamarind and caramelised onion brown rice, pumpkin bon bons and crispy shallots; finishing off with a dessert of toffee apple upside-down cake with vanilla custard.
