Our round-up this week features a new monthly market, a new menu, plus two special food & drink events to sink your teeth in to…
Spinningfields Makers Market
This weekend sees the launch of a new monthly market in Spinningfields. Actually, it’s more like two markets: the Makers Market combines food, drink, arts and crafts, while the Finders’ Keepers bit is more like a flea, with vintage and kitsch goodies. There’s live music to add to the ambience, and street food stalls selling fresh produce.
Sat 20 & Sun 21 Jun, Spinningfields Makers Market, Spinningfields, The Avenue and Hardman Boulevard, 11am – 5pm, facebook.com
Rosylee launches new menu
Rosylee, one of the Northern Quarter’s upmarket eateries, has drafted in award-winning chef Chris Byron to craft a new menu. There’s a focus on using only the best of British ingredients from across the North West, with choice cuts of prime meat and market-fresh seafood – all cooked in the restaurant’s super-hot INKA charcoal oven. As well as unique flavours, Rosylee also promises ‘proper’ northern portions… but leave room for the dessert sharer – a selection of handmade puds, including lemon posset and salted caramel ice cream.
Rosylee, 11 Stevenson Square, M1 1DB, Tel: 0161 228 6629, 10am – 10pm, rosylee.com
Celebrate summer with Cloudwater and Common
Local brewery Cloudwater is bringing a slice of summer to Common’s beer taps at the end of this month. It’s got eight kegs and two casks of pure sunshine-flavoured brews, which will be paired with a specially created six-course menu by the folk at Common, featuring Korean fried chicken, courgette flowers and spiced lamb breast.
Tue 30 Jun, A Celebration of Summer, Common, 39 Edge Street, M4 1HW, 6.30pm, Tickets from £28 via Eventbrite.co.uk
Tim Peaks Diner comes to Albert Square (pictured)

It forms part of the Greater Manchester Fringe and, as well as Tim’s signature brews, there are a host of other events happening over the two days, including live music, a Q&A with Paddy Considine and workshops.
Sat 11 & Sun 12 Jul, Tim Peaks Diner, Albert’s Chop House, 14 Albert Square, M2 5PF, 12pm – 1am, more info here
