New bar: New York inspired bar ‘Manhatta’ from Banyan group on Deansgate
Arc Inspirations, the restaurant group behind Banyan in the Corn exchange have announced plans for a New York inspired bar in Deansgate’s Royal London House. The Grade II listed building (formerly Nevisport) is set to become the third branch of their ‘Manhatta’ brand, and the first outside Leeds. There’s been something of a glut of big apple style bars opening in Manchester of late, so by now we know the drill. An emphasis on cocktails, subdued lighting and a hint of art deco in the décor perhaps?
Opening 2018, Royal London House 196 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3WF. www.arcinspirations.com

Festive street food at Levy Night Market
For those who havn’t quite finished (or, ahem, started) their Christmas shopping, the Levenshulme night market might just be the answer. With local traders for last minute gifts, some great street food stalls and a flowing bar… why set foot on Market Street if you don’t have to? We’re eyeing up the Polish pierogo from Olo Kitchen and the Ottö-Men’s mezze. See also Grub’s final Christmas Food Fair on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 December at Fairfield Social Club.
