Pancake Day Festival at Bøck Bière Café
Today’s the flipping day. Take the hassle out of making your own pancakes and join Bøck Bière Café for their festival in honour of Shrove Tuesday feasting. They are serving sweet and savoury pancakes from noon until 10pm with crepe and beer deals to be had. A savoury pancake and Belgian abbey beer favourite Grimbergen will cost £8, with a sweet crepe and beer coming in at £5, plus they are also trialling their Belgian topped fries tonight. Acoustic music is upstairs from 7pm.

Vegan pop-up: Wholesome Junkies at The Wonder Inn
Those keeping an eye on vegan food menus will have noticed jackfruit starting to make more and more of an appearance. Wholesome Junkies are bringing their vegan fare to Shudehill venue The Wonder Inn and are offering slow roasted BBQ pulled ‘pork’ jackfruit burger with slaw and tortilla chips, as well as homemade broccoli, red onion, chilli, toasted hazelnut and crispy kale pizza, spicy mac and cheese and other sweet and savoury vegan delights. No booking is required and remember to bring cash, they don’t take cards yet.

Pop-up: #SCRANcoats at Ancoats General Store ft. MacDaddies
The rotating pop-up evening at Ancoats General Store welcomes a collaboration through the doors. DJ Pasta Paul is playing whilst MacDaddies serve up their trademark comfort food. ‘July 14th’ is their four cheese mac with jalapenos and smoked streaky bacon, ‘Oh My Gourd’ is a garlic roasted butternut squash and crème fraiche creation, and deep fried mac’n’cheese balls are the dream. Joining them is The Manchester Doughnut Co., serving up their sweet, doughy treats. You’d best get down there.

Tap takeover: Bristol’s Wiper and True at Port Street Beer House
PSBH are allowing Bristol brewery Wiper and True to takeover the taps this time, and they’re bringing seven keg and a couple of cask beers with them. Amongst them is a 10.7% Imperial Milk Stout called Hard Shake with chocolate malts, vanilla and cacoa nibs, an IPA called Quintet which combines five different hops for depth and flavour, and a Rye Mild with hints of gooseberry and peach. Every Saturday: Levy Market returns to Levenshulme Station carpark (pictured)
As hopeful for Spring as a daffodil in the snow, Levy Market is back, and they have big plans for this year. The community-run market will launch with local artist Jess Megson playing, along with the usual locally sourced food market stalls serving lunch on the spot, as well as goodies to take home. Pop down to welcome them back.

Food fair: GRUB at Alphabet Brewing Co.
Such is the popularity of GRUB, they have increased the amount of stalls to supply Manchester’s hungry demand. This week, the brewery welcomes the cooking of Tikk’s Thai Kitchen, Teesside parmos from ParmStar, hotdogs from Manchester favourite Fat Annie’s, Indian street food from Vaso Kitchen and comforting mac’n’cheese from MacDaddies, plus In Truffle We Trust will provide chocolatey treats for afters. Pasta Paul and Ailsa McLaggan will be providing the soundtrack, whilst Alphabet beers are served from the source along with ciders, wine and soft drinks. Remember to bring cash for the stalls, cards are accepted at the bar.

Supper club: Matched beers pop-up with Holy Crab at Saison
Local seafood pop-up Holy Crab are joining forces with Didsbury restaurant Saison to bring you a specially created menu of four small plates matched with four Saison beers. The food menu includes mature cheese crab balls with chipotle mayo, bloody Mary mussels with smoked haddock, tomato broth and cider dough, scallop brioche bun with celeriac and apple slaw, and sweet and salty crab fritters.
