Be at One bar now open in Barton Arcade
Be At One has opened its doors with great fanfare. Situated in Barton Arcade, the basement bar offers an extensive and exciting cocktail menu. As well as the usual suspects, there are also some unique signature creations, including the Popster – a mixture of sweet and salty popcorn, ice cream and butterscotch schnapps, no less. With plenty of booths and corners to sink down into, the knowledgeable staff are on hand if the vast menu choice is too much.

Supper club: Robert Owen Brown at Ancoats Coffee Co.
Hosting its third supper club, Ancoats Coffee Co will be letting local award-winning chef Robert Owen-Brown take over the kitchen at the roastery-cafe in Royal Mills. Continuing the regular series of foodie events, the evening promises an evening of fun, food, drink and music. A menu typical of the chef, the five-course menu starts with Ancoats wild garlic soup, tea-smoked squab, razor clam and cockle salad and beef fillet, finishing off with iced espresso and bitter chocolate mousse. There are soft drinks to buy on the night, but guests are invited to bring their own booze, allowing for a corkage fee.

Free burritos: New Mexican restaurant Chilango opening soon on Oxford Road
Arriving on Oxford Road, London export Chilango is setting up its first northern branch. As a crowd-funded venture, the restaurant has won a range of awards for its Mexican fare and is keen to bring that to Manchester. Expect burritos, tacos, salads and nachos. Opening on Fri 22 April, Chilango are offering free burritos for everyone that visits.

Award-winning Dockyard Spinningfields pub launches new US menu
Spinningfields restaurant Dockyard has launched a new menu based on American classics. There are deep-fried prawns in monkey salt batter hoagies, grilled Philly cheese sandwiches, wings and ribs on offer as well as an exciting new burger, hotdog and hearty salad menu.
