Fine dining, fine price with Quill’s £20-ish menu
One of King Street’s newest arrivals, Quill has made waves since opening. With an intriguing cocktail list and Sunday jazz sessions, they are offering diners the chance to sample its fine dining in sweet early bird deal. During February, tuck into two courses and a glass of Prosecco from the lunch and early dining menu, (12-2pm and 5.30-7.30pm respectively) for £20.16. The menu is inventive – see Autumn salad, pictured – the cocktail list’s extensive plus this is one of the city’s most feted new arrivals. We recommend popping in while it’s not so expensive.

Half price sushi at Itsu from 6pm
Before Itsu moved north, I became aware of a certain subculture when visiting London, which took the shape of post-work Itsu sushi scurriers. With sushi reduced by 50% for the last half hour of the new store’s opening in Spinningfields, Mancunians can join the fun. The discount covers all sushi, sashimi and salads. As well as ticking both the healthy and delicious boxes, it’s refreshing to see a business cutting down on food waste.
Itsu, Manchester Spinningfields, 1 Hardman Boulevard, Manchester. M3 3AQ. Tel: 0161 672 3990. Opening hours, Mon-Fri, 7am-6.30pm – arrive at 6pm for the half-price sale, www.itsu.com
