Mei Mei’s Street Cart takes over Electrik
To celebrate Chinese New Year, Mei Mei’s Street Cart is bringing a one-off, authentic feast to Electrik in Chorlton. On the menu are chilli ribs, turnip cake and slow braised beef brisket cooked in flavoursome spices. Mei Mei’s holds the accolade of Street Food Trader Of The Year 2014, so you can bet the food will be quality. Award-winning tapas from Ibérica (pictured) for Spinningfields
Authentic Spanish restaurant Ibérica is set to open its first venture outside of the capital next month. Executive head chef Nacho Manzo – who had three Michelin stars to his name – has developed an enticing menu complete with familiar tapas dishes, as well as larger sharing platters like paella and cachopo (fried beef, with Ibérico pork and cheese from the northern region of Asturias). It’s not only traditional Spanish food that Ibérica’s bringing to Manchester: the contemporary-looking restaurant also features two terraces, so diners can eat al fresco as if they were in Madrid. Just watch out for the rain.

Rudimental to open new ice bar in Spinningfields
Spring might be just around the corner, but to embrace that winter chill for a bit longer, Coors Light is popping up an ice bar in Spinningfields. Open between 14 and 19 March, the bar will sink to temperatures of -5°c – which is perfect for the ice sculptures that will be dotted around the freezing venue, but not so great for the fingers wrapped around your beer.
