Albert Square will be painted green this weekend as the Irish Festival Market returns for a ten-day St Patrick’s Day celebration. Tuck into the full Irish of crafts, books, traditional food, music – even a traditional village green – as the market brings the best of the Emerald Isle to the city centre. Highlights include the Leprechaun’s house, and O’Briens Entertainment Marquee, hosting a series of Irish bands and Six Nations games live on giant screens. Traditional ale and whiskey will be available throughout – be it straight or in the subtler form of an Irish coffee. An annual tradition, soak up the Gaelic atmosphere in anticipation of the St Partrick’s Day Parade on Sunday 17 March.
