Manchester Mid-days return with their esteemed classical concert series this September, bringing a series of unique lunchtime shows to The Bridgewater Hall.
Kicking off the 24/25 season, the CLOUDS Harp Quartet are set to perform on Thu 5 Sep. An ensemble of supremely talented harpists, the group are known for their genre-defying compositions which challenge perceptions of ‘traditional’ harp music.
The CLOUDS Harp Quartet create rich, immersive soundscapes that draw on a wide range of influences including Scottish folk music, minimalism, world music, and improvisation.
In fact, founding member Esther Swift’s compositions are never written down. Instead, the quartet learns all music by ear and performs live entirely from memory, making each show truly dynamic and one-of-a-kind.
Also performing as part of the series next month, Tom Gamble, who is regarded as one of the UK’s most exciting guitarists, comes to The Bridgewater Hall on Mon 23 Sep.
This special concert will see Gamble performing a selection of his most popular pieces and original compositions.
