Manchester Pride returns for 2021 later this month with a weekend packed full of music and activities to get involved in. While the parade can no longer go ahead this year, plenty of events will still be taking place across the city in support and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. Featuring the six key strands – Activism, Equality, Arts and Culture, Youth and Family, Community, Party – the team behind this August Bank Holiday festival have recently dropped venue details for their live music element.

Taking place at brand new outdoor venue Homeground on First Street on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 August – MCR Pride Live will have two live music stages, The Main Stage and the Gaydio Dance Tent, featuring a stellar line-up of performers. On the bill you can expect Zara Larsson, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, DJ Annie Mac, Gabrielle, Katy B and Example to name a few.

Saturday night’s performances will be hosted by La Discothèque and House of Ghetto, with Sunday in the capable hands of Danny Beard, Cheddar Gorgeous, Anna Phylactic, The Manchester Queens and House of Blaque. There’s also a super secret headline performer on Saturday which won’t be revealed until the very night itself.

MCR Pride Live’s First Street location was originally launched as Homeground this May by HOME – the city’s centre for contemporary theatre, film, art and music. Mark Fletcher, CEO of Manchester Pride said of the venue “The site is perfect for our event and is less than ten minutes walk from the Gay Village meaning that ticket holders will be able to move around our different sites in the city really easily”

You can find out more about MCR Pride Live including the full line-up and ticket information at the official Manchester Pride website.
