As part of this year’s Manchester Song Festival, The Stoller Hall is hosting a full day of musical workshops across a whole range of genres and abilities on Sat 2 Mar.
The venue says it hopes these workshops will appeal to a range of levels with something for everyone — “If you or have ever been part of a community choir, theatre group or choral society; if you are a music student, or early-career professional, if you’re someone who loves to sing, we’d love you to join us.”
The day kicks off with a morning yoga session between 10am – 11am, designed to prepare your body for a full musical day ahead.
Liam Frost explores 21st-century creative writing ideas in a songwriting workshop. This full-day masterclass will involve sharing your existing music with Liam and the group, as well as developing new songwriting techniques that encourage everyday creativity.
BAPAM (British Association for Performing Arts Medicine) approved vocal rehabilitation coach Carrie Simone Birmingham of Pro Vox Liverpool will be teaching more about how to take care of your voice while singing.
Other workshops include an introduction to musical theatre, a vocal anxiety and performance class dedicated to building confidence as a performer and a session devoted to discovering the fascinating world of synaesthesia through a multimedia recital by Margaret McDonald with David Jones at the piano.
