Manchester has always been a city of firsts, a tradition which continues with the launch of the world’s first permanent, public Lomograph wall. Lomography is a global community that shares a passion for analog photography. So head down and witness the unveiling of a permanent 30-meter-long display of up to 14,000 lomographs on the edge of the Northern Quarter. Have your picture taken and added to the wall before heading back to the Lomography Gallery Store in the Northern Quarter for refreshments. The LomoWall launch is part of this year’s Canal Festival – look out for forthcoming previews about the Float-In Cinema in the same part of town.

From Thu 26 Jul, the wall at Tariff Street from 6pm & Lomography Gallery Store, 20 Oldham Street, M1 1JN. Tel: 0161 228 2360 from 7pm, free. Follow on Twitter via #lomowallmcr.
