Chorlton is fast becoming roast central. And why not? The leafy suburb is the ideal place to recover after a big night out. Indulge in a fine glass of Malbec and a roast dinner at one of the areas many acclaimed cafes and bars. We’ll be exploring a few over the coming weeks, and first up is cosy Oddest bar who have recently updated their menu. Options now include slow roast rolled pork, cooked in organic cider with cracking, 12 hour ale braised beef brisket, slow cooked shoulder of Cheshire lamb and a wild mushroom and lentil Wellington. Sides maketh the roast – and they really do at Oddest, where the options include roasties, wild honey roast carrots, seasonal greens, cider braised red cabbage, cauliflower goats cheese, Yorkshire pudding and proper gravy. There’s a French-style ‘roast sandwich’ to try too made with brioche, roast meat, gravy – and side of roasties. Kids portions are just under £5. With eclectic furnishings and a ‘front-room’ vibe, a relaxing Sunday is guaranteed.
