Manchester’s only Michelin star rated restaurant Mana has launched a takeaway burger service during lockdown in the hopes of bringing ‘some sunshine to an otherwise unspectacular period.’ Starting at £17, Mana’s gourmet burgers will boast the finest Lake District Farmers’ Belted Galloway beef patties, complete with American-style cheese made with St Andrews’ cheddar and Cloudwater beer. Each will be housed in a potato, brown butter and milk bun, alongside smoked egg yolks, lettuce and a green onion paste.
For now, the restaurant is sticking to burgers but hopes to expand its takeaway service to add tacos and a selection of fried chicken options in the near future. Owner Simon Martin secured Mana’s Michelin star in 2019 making it the first restaurant in the city to be awarded one in over 40 years. In addition to burgers, customers will also be able to order a range of soft drinks like cucumber, lime and mint soda or the sorrel and matcha iced tea – but there’s a limit of 100 burger pre-orders per day, so make sure you get in there quick. All burgers can be collected directly from their Blossom Street venue in Ancoats. To browse their full menu and to place your order, head here.
