Taking their name from the Sega game console that ruled the late 1980s, Mastersystem is brothers Scott and Grant Hutchinson of Frightened Rabbit joined by Editors’ Justin Lockey and his brother James of Minor Victories. The result: heavyweight rock in the vein of Pavement – but a whole lot heavier and packed with emotion. Their first single Notes on A Life Not Quite Lived is out now, and the debut album, Dance Music, out Friday 6 April.
