Following on from the release of his tech-pop wonder Black City in 2010, musical polymath Matthew Dear has left fans wondering where he’ll go next. Now, fresh from supporting the likes of Hot Chip and Interpol with his new four-piece band, and producing track remixes for bands including The xx, the Texan producer and all-rounder moves out of 2012 with his fifth full-length album, Beams. His new music casually transgresses the boundaries of electronic beats and post-rock triumphs, with stand-outs including Her Fantasy and Do The Right Thing.
