It might be a little early, but it’s no less welcome as Oktoberfest hits Albert Hall this September for two days of great beer and Bavarian vibes in the Grade II listed former Methodist church hall on Peter Street. Last year sold out with some 2,000 beer lovers descending upon Albert Hall so they’ve upped the ante this time round with three sessions serving all the limited edition beers from the official festival in Munich. Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr, Spaten and more will go toe to toe with the likes of Blackjack and Seven Brothers from Manchester in a beer off to rival all others. Get tickets early as it will sell out quick.

Fri 14 & Sat 15 Sep, Albert Hall, 27 Peter Street, Manchester M2 5QR. Tel: 0161 817 3490. Fri session: 5pm-11pm, Sat sessions: noon-5pm & 6pm-11pm), £12.50 + fee, www.alberthallmanchester.com
