With Robinsons Brewery having lived there for coming up 200 years, Stockport has a fine, rich history of making a good pint of ale. However, since 2001, things have changed a little. Quantum Brewing Company was founded at a time when the popularity for micro-breweries was on the rise, and has quickly turned into producing some of the most well loved small-scale drops both locally and nationally. Chorlton, of course, is Manchester’s native home for the real ale brigade – so for one evening, Jay from Quantum heads down to the borough’s Oddbins for a night of meeting, greeting, discussion and beer tasting. The core range is made up of a 3.8% Bitter, a 4.5% Pale Ale, a 4.8% Stout and a 5.3% American Amber Ale – though expect some of the seasonal ales to make an appearance too, along with inspiration and insight.
