Liza Violet and Ryan Needham – better known to you and me as Leeds-based indie outfit Menace Beach – are set to pound the Deaf Institute’s stage once more. Having already played a small handful of storming shows at the Grosvenor Street venue since forming in 2012, the DIY duo will return during a new tour supporting third album ‘Black Rainbow Sound’ (out 31 August via Memphis Industries). Menace Beach made their mark on the UK indie scene with acclaimed debut LP ‘Ratworld’; a sonic cocktail of psychedelia, lo-fi indie, shoegaze and 90s college rock. Last year’s acclaimed sophomore effort ‘Lemon Memory’ has swiftly been followed up with news of their latest release and sees them enlist the help of Brix Smith, formerly of The Fall. Expect the catchy duo to be at their crunching best, brimming with scuzzy guitars, lo-fi electronics and dreamy vocals.

Wed 24 Oct, The Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor Street, Manchester M1 7HE. Tel: 0161 276 9350. 7pm, £8.50, www.seetickets.com
