On May Bank Holiday Weekend (22-26 May), Manchester’s grassroots music festival Mews Fest is set to return to Great Northern, as the much loved event marks its sixth year with its most expansive programme to date across various venues along the hidden gem terrace.

Free to attend with no booking required, the festival will once again take over Deansgate Mews with a packed schedule of live music across a mix of outdoor and intimate indoor spaces. This year, organisers are introducing the first ever Mews Fest Fringe, which will run alongside the core programme and grow the event’s focus beyond live performance into a broader celebration of independent creative culture.

Across the weekend, more than forty bands will perform at venues including The Lion’s Den, Low Four Studios and The Mews Bar, with the full line up set to be announced in the coming weeks. Known for its grassroots ethos and focus on emerging talent, Mews Fest has built a reputation as a platform for local artists, with a relaxed, open format that encourages musical discovery across countless genres.

New for 2026, the Mews Fest Fringe will be hosted in a large unit within Great Northern Warehouse, which transforms into a hub for music, art and independent retail. The curated area is designed to bring together Manchester’s wider creative community, with a specially selected mix of stalls, pop ups and showcases running parallel to the live music programme.

With its continued focus on supporting local talent, Mews Fest has become a fixture in Manchester’s stellar live performance calendar.
