What’s unreachable and what’s attainable? What are the limits of human interaction on the finite-infinite scale? How do we understand and document the world around us? A group of artists have come together for Castlefield’s Winter exhibition to explore these questions through film, sculpture, astronomical artefacts and drawn diagrams. Using the manipulation of scale, Miniature World will present work that exposes the underlying pursuit of knowledge into fields of philosophy, science-fiction, astronomy, and design. Collating newly commissioned work alongside existing projects, the 10 exhibiting artists will create a diverse analysis of the interchangeable relationship between the finite and the infinite. Featuring Artists: Iain Andrews, Annie Carpenter, Paul Evans, Hondartza Fraga, Steven Gartside and Eleanor Mulhearn, Matthew Houlding, Manchester Astronomical Society, Monty, Simon O’Sullivan, and Claire Tindale.
