Urban explorers are invited to the recently revitalised Preston Bus Station and surrounding area, including the city’s new public square and Market Hall. Take in the refreshed architecture of the bus station, whose Grade-II listed brutalist exterior was protected by Heritage England in 2013, when initial regeneration plans proposed its demolition. Subsequently, the amended plans were approved and have sought to retain its character. Staged jointly by Manchester Modernist Society and The Institute of Historic Building Conservation, the tour is being led by Conlon Construction and Preston City Council.

Thu 8 Mar, Meet outside The Tithbarne Public House, 27 Lord Street, Preston, PR1 1DN, 4pm-6.30pm, FREE (advance registration required – email lisa.mcfarlane@sevenarchitecture.co.uk), www.modernist-society.org
