Way back in April of this year we ran an exclusive. An exclusive so exclusive that it was three months premature. What a scoop! Due for an opening in May, Montpellier’s Café & Bar will finally open its doors this Saturday on Back Turner Street (it runs parallel to the bright lights of Thomas Street) and is set to add a hidden gem to the Northern Quarter’s bustling bar and restaurant scene. With this slight delay taken in stride, and as a chance to make sure everything is perfect for launch, Montpellier’s have crafted an eating and drinking environment with a quiet, secluded area for revellers to watch sporting events, comedy and acoustic nights downstairs in its basement. Bringing a sense of the Mediterranean to its food and drink, expect classic French cuisine at an affordable price with a fine wine to match. Good things come to those who wait, and we’ve waited long enough.

Opening Sat 10 Aug, Montpellier’s Café & Bar, 42 Back Turner Street, M4 1FR, Tel: 0161 832 3146, www.facebook.com
